Schools’ energy policy brings in the green

SPARTA, Wisconsin (WXOW) – An environmentally friendly energy policy helps the Sparta School District go green, in more ways than one. Over the past two years the district has partnered with the company Energy Education Inc. to create a more cost-effective strategy through heating, cooling and lighting techniques. The goal is to save $1 million over the four year program. But Sparta is ahead of schedule–already saving about $640,000 in only two years. District Energy Manager Paul Thibodeau said it’s all thanks to a group effort.
